I will crawl and sing with my hands if that is what will get me back on stage: – Celine Dion vows.

Grammy award winning singer Celine Dion has stated that she will not let her battle with stiff person syndrome to keep her from getting back on the stage to sing.

In an interview with American television personality Hoda Kotb on the Today Show, the 56-year-old made a commitment to return to performing live, even if it meant crawling up onstage and singing with her hands.

“I’m going to go back on stage, even if I have to crawl. Even if I have to talk with my hands, I will.

“I am Celine Dion, because today my voice will be heard for the first time, not just because I have to, or because I need to. It’s because I want to and I miss it,” Celine Dion said.

The diagnosis of Stiff Person Syndrome, which results in stiff muscles in the arms, legs, and torso, with loudness or emotional disturbance known to provoke spasms, was first made public by Celine Dion in December 2022.

Before going public, she disclosed that she had been fighting Stiff Person Syndrome covertly for 17 years. The singer acknowledged that symptoms had been plaguing her since 2008.

She recently said that she feels like she’s “being strangled” due to her Stiff Person Syndrome. Dion continued by saying that she had broken a few ribs and frequently has cramps.

Due to her condition, Celine Dion had to cancel a number of shows and tours scheduled for 2023 and 2024. She has however vowed to make it back to the stage by whatever means necessary.

Over the course of her remarkable career, Celine Dion has sold over 250 million records, making her one of the most successful musicians in the business.
