The Nigerian singer took to X to celebrate the success of her film. She captioned the post as; “Thanks to the WAG family worldwide for the love and support”.
The film is currently in the top 10 on Prime films in the following countries; South Africa, Ghana, Nigeria, Georgia, Zambia, Cyprus, Rwanda, Uganda, Ukraine, Qatar, Tanzania, Togo, Benin Republic and Cameroon.
The film ‘Water and Garri’ was produced by Tiwa Savage and Jim Adesanya. The premiere took place on May 10, 2024.
The film which was directed by Meji Alabi narrates the story of Aisha (played by Savage), an ambitious fashion designer who returns to her hometown after years away in the United States. A family loss compels her homecoming, but Aisha discovers a vastly different reality upon her arrival.
Shot in Ghana, Cape Coast to be precise, the film also featured Mike Afolarian, Andrew Bunting, Jemima Osunde and other talented actors.
