(Watch): Disney has released the first trailer for its highly-anticipated “Moana” sequel.

The sequel of ‘Moana’ brings back Auliʻi Cravalho and Dwyane Johnson to voice the characters of Moana and Maui.

‘Moana 2’ is another oceanic adventure which sees Moana in obedience to her ancestors journeys into dangerous waters. This journey will bring Moana face to face with obstacles she has never faced before.

The description to trailer reads; “Moana and Maui three years later for an expansive new voyage alongside a crew of unlikely seafarers. After receiving an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors, Moana must journey to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters for an adventure unlike anything she’s ever faced.

This is a call from the ancestors to sail to new skies and reconnect our people across the entire ocean,” Moana says in the trailer. Maui then makes an appearance on her boat, referring to a chicken and pig as “boat snacks.”

The highly anticipated sequel is directed by David G. Derrick Jr. According to reports, the sequel was planned for a series and later retooled to a feature film.

The release of the first Moana in 2016 generated over $680 million at the global box office to Disney. This became a huge success in the animation fraternity.
