The Rock as he is popularly known is set to return to the ‘Fast and Furious’ franchise in the next chapter. His return to the ‘fast and furious’ franchise is not what is putting him on the top of the list of highest earning actors.
According to a newsletter by Mathew Belloni, a journalist with Puck, Dwayne Johnson has received a record breaking paycheck for his role in the upcoming movie ‘Red One’.
It is reported that, the ‘Hobbs and Shaw’ actor has received $50 million for his role. This $50 million paycheck is the most the actor has ever received for a single part and the most any actor has ever received for a single role.
With this paycheck, Dwayne Johnson will unseat Will Smith and Robert Downey Jr who are at a tie on top of the list with $40 million. Will Smith received $40 million for his performance in King Richard, while Robert Downey Jr. also received the same amount for his work on Captain America: Civil War.
Dwayne Johnson will soon return to play another of his legendary roles in the live-action remake of Moana, which was revealed earlier this year as part of a long line of reimaginings of Disney classics, despite the fact that the film’s original release was only seven years ago.
The Rock is also poised to return to Netflix with Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot in the Red Notice sequel, which is almost ready to begin filming, according to the former Wonder Woman actor.
