In a statement to ET on Wednesday, the ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ star revealed details of his leaving.

Tenoch Huerta, who achieved widespread recognition as Namor in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever last year, is quitting the upcoming Netflix film Fiesta en la Madriguera due to claims of sexual assault.

“Given the impact of the recent false statements by María Elena Ríos and the damage they have caused, I have no choice but to withdraw from participating in the film Fiesta en la Madriguera,” Huerta claimed in his statement. “It is with great sadness that I do this, but I cannot allow her actions to harm not only me, but also the work of dozens of talented and hard-working people involved in the project. My focus now is simple: continue the process of restoring my reputation,”

Musician María Elena Ríos on June 10 accused Huerta of being a “sexual predator.” Elena made this revelation through a twitter post.

“It’s very difficult to talk about the emotional abuse and the abuse of power of a sexual predator who is loved around the world for playing a character in a movie such as Tenoch Huerta… Charming in appearance, the great hallmark of a narcissist + a good helping of victimization,”

Mexican actor Tenoch Huerta denied the allegations calling them “false and completely unsubstantiated accusation.”

María Elena Ríos also explained the reason why she did not report the said sexual assault allegations.

“They say those who live in a macho country, where justice is unattainable, where they almost kill you — and even still they don’t believe you and justice isn’t served. And no, I don’t want to be famous. And no, I don’t want money because I know how to work.”

Ríos addressed her delay in speaking out in a subsequent tweet, writing that she is discussing the problem now because she has “a process.”

“I was afraid that this would happen: people who refuse to believe that a SUPER HERO is an abuser, manipulator and sexual predator… Yes, you @TenochHuerta abuse because you know you have power.”

María Elena Ríos tweeted.

Huerta replied to the allegations by telling ET that he and Ríos “dated… for several months.” they had an “entirely consensual relationship at all times, as countless others can attest.”

“After it ended, however, Elena began to misrepresent our interactions both privately and in front of groups of mutual friends… As a result, a few months ago, I engaged a legal team to commence the appropriate actions to protect my reputation and refute these irresponsible and false accusations that can cause great prejudice and damage… Although I am by no means perfect, I know that these allegations are simply untrue.”

Huerta claimed.
