“Social Media, Especially TikTok has rendered most youth idle and unproductive: – Archbishop Palmer-Buckle.

Most Rev. Charles Gabriel Palmer-Buckle has bemoaned the impact of social media on the productivity of the youth.

Archbishop Palmer-Buckle noted that, majority of the youth spend most of their time on social media, especially TikTok, wasting away valuable time which could have been used to do something productive.

The Archbishop made this pronouncement during a youth rally of the Roman Catholic Church which took place in Assin Fosu. In his speech, he added that, the youth should make it a point to use their time judiciously to enhance productivity.

As seen on graphic.com, the Archbishop said; “Social media, especially TikTok, has rendered most youth idle, as they devote much time there instead of using the time productively. Use your social media profitably; use it to learn new skills and search for valuable information instead of following unnecessary trends online.”

The emergence of social media has been seen by others as a blessing as they make a living out of it. Content creators, brand influencers, etc. are putting social media into good use.

On the other hand, some people argue that, social media has a negative influence on the youth as they spend huge number of hours watching contents. As the Archbishop puts it, social media is making the youth unproductive and idle.
