One military officer killed, 5 seriously injured in accident in the Upper East Region

An army officer from the 11 Mechanized Battalion stationed in Bawku has died in a sad event that occurred in the Upper East Region.

Concerns regarding military personnel’s safety on the roads have been raised by the incident, which happened near Binduri and left five additional officers in severe condition.

The military truck, identified as 15 GA 04, abruptly went off the road while it was traveling from Bawku to Bazua, according to witnesses.

The car became uncontrollable and repeatedly somersaulted, resulting in a catastrophic collision.

The collision had an instantaneous, catastrophic effect that resulted in the death of one of the military officers.

In the meantime, the crash left the five surviving officers with critical injuries that needed immediate medical attention.

Emergency personnel were dispatched swiftly to take the wounded officers to the nearby hospitals.

They were brought to the Tamale Teaching Hospital and the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital, where they are still undergoing medical care for their injuries.
