My government will make it a priority to investigate and reclaim all stolen state lands and properties: – John Mahama

The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress has given an assurance to reclaim all state properties which are unlawfully disposed.

John Mahama mentioned that, the “Akufo-Addo and Bawumia government is disposing off state lands and properties at an unprecedented rate”. And he has promised to investigate and reclaim all such properties back to the state.

Recently, a demonstration was led by Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa to halt the sale of four SSNIT hotels to the agricultural minister Bryan Acheampong. The lawmaker revealed the sale of the said hotels with documents to support his claim.

At the demonstration, the La Wulomo Nii Yemo Obroni accused the current government and the lands commission of taking over their lands. According to Wulomo Nii Yemo Obroni, lands are being sold without the consent of the custodians of the land.

“I’m the chief priest of the land—they are taking our property unlawful away without we allodial masters our concern. Government collaborated with the Lands Commission – and this commission they are the worst and useless commission. They have been selling all our lands,” Wulomo Nii Yemo Obroni said.

The La Wulomo further said; “So if I’m a chief priest, I have to fight for my right because I have kids coming. So we need to tell the government that any land belonging to La, GaDangme, they should never dare. They should give our lands to us, we don’t want any problems with them.”

These and many other stories of sale of state lands and properties have given cause to the NDC flagbearer to make a pledge to investigate and reclaim such properties.
