In an emotional message, Jamie Foxx appreciated the love people showed him in his time of difficulty. About three months ago, the Oscar winning actor was hospitalized due to a medical emergency. Though the details of the health problem has not been made public, Jamie acknowledged it has been a scary experience.
Almost in tears as he speaks in the video, the sensational actor thanked his fans, family and the medical team that took care of him. Most of the updates about the actors condition came from his daughter. Corinne Foxx updated fans on the condition of her father but never gave away details of what her father was going through.
Touching on the reason for the long silence from him, the ‘Ray’ star mentioned that he went through something he thought he “would never ever go through”. And he didn’t want his fans to see him like that, rather he wants to be seen as the one who put smiles on the faces of people through his work as an actor, musician and comedian.
“First of all I want to say thank you to everybody that prayed and sent me messages, I cannot even begin to tell you how far it took me and how it brought me back. I went through something that I thought I would never ever go through, and I know a lot of people were waiting or wanting to hear updates but to be honest with you, I just didn’t want you to see me like that man”.
“I want you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie, television show – I didn’t want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was gonna make it through. And to be honest with you, my sister… and my daughter Corinne save my life.”
“To them, and to God, to a lot of great medical people… they didn’t let anything out, they protected me…”
The ‘They Cloned Tyrone’ actor also touched on the speculations and rumors surrounding the cause of his medical complication. According to him he heard rumors such as he was blind, paralyzed, which is not true. But he acknowledged that he went through a lot.
“I went to hell and back, and my road to recovery had some potholes as well but I’m coming back, and I’m able to work. So I want to thank the people that made me work. I just wanted to say that I love everybody and I love all of the love that I got”.
After the release of the video, Hollywood big names have sent words of encouragements and best wishes to Jamie Foxx. Notable among them are, Will Smith who wrote; “Awww Man!! Who’s cuttin’ onions?? Love U Foxx!! Your Light Is Needed ‘n Appreciated Right Now!”.
The Rock also wrote; “I’m gonna bear hug the f**k outta you when I see you again.” Michael B. Jordan, Viola Davis, Justin Timberlake, Prince David Osei, are among the numerous celebrities showing love to Jamie Foxx.
