Though the season 2 of ‘House of the Dragon’ is yet to be premiered, talks about the making of season 3 has already started, and a deal has already been reached.

Returned showrunner Ryan Condal will continue to collaborate with series author George RR Martin on ‘House of the Dragon’, when he returns for the upcoming season.

Francesca Orsi of HBO revealed the news of the renewal, saying; “With the amazing second season of House of the Dragon, George, Ryan, and the rest of our amazing executive producers, cast, and crew have reached new heights.”

“We are in awe of the dragon-sized effort the entire team has put into the creation of a spectacular season two, with a scope and scale that is only rivaled by its heart. We could not be more thrilled to continue the story of House Targaryen and watch this team burn bright again for season three.”

Considering that fans of House of the Dragon have to wait over two years between seasons, anticipation for the program appears to be at an all-time high.

The second season of the show appears to be well worth the wait, as seen by its stellar 88% Fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes and positive early reviews that highlight its controlled pacing and elevated emotional stakes.

The season 2 of ‘House of the Dragon’ will be premiering on Sunday (June 16) on HBO / streaming service Max in the US and on Monday (June 17) on Sky Atlantic in the UK.
