Over the course of its domestic opening weekend, the prequel brought in an astounding $53 million at the US box office. The debut total reached an astounding $98.5 million internationally thanks to the $45.5 million in international sales.
The biggest debut in the franchise is A Quiet Place: Day One. It gained more than A Quiet Place, which debuted with $50 million, and A Quiet Place Part II, which debuted with $48 million.
As reported by Variety, Chris Aronson president of domestic distribution at Paramount had this to say; “We listened to the fans about what they’d be looking for. This origin story, giving them a new city as the setting and fresh characters, all conspired to broaden the audience.”
The only film to beat A Quiet Place: Day One’s premiere was Inside Out 2. Since its debut, the Pixar sequel’s popularity hasn’t faltered.
Inside Out 2 is currently the highest-grossing film of the year, having made $1.015 billion worldwide to date. It has accomplished the amazing achievement of becoming the first movie of 2024 to break into the exclusive $1 billion club.
