Mohammed Zakiu Wunpini, a pharmacy student at the University for Development Studies (UDS) in Dungu, was fatally stabbed.

On September 25, 2024, in the evening, Zakiu, who was about to start his third year of school, was discovered deceased.

His body, covered in several stab wounds, was discovered within an incomplete structure on the UDS campus, halfway between the Citadel and Kumbung hostels.

Zakiu’s phone and motorcycle are reported to be missing, which raises the possibility that he was attacked and robbed.

It was established that he had gone out to watch a football game with a buddy that evening, but he never returned.

In reaction to the event, university officials, including the Vice Dean, Dean of Students, and Director of Security, convened an emergency meeting and later visited the regional police station on Friday to obtain information on the current investigation.

The school has been thrown into shock and mourning as students and staff await more information about their colleague’s tragic death.

His ultimate funeral will be held today, September 30, 2024, at Gumani near Oasis Restaurant.
