At a stakeholders meeting organized by John Mahama, Mercy Asiedu mentioned some of the support the former president gave to the creative sector. According to the actress the support by John Mahama helped some of them to get on their feet.
She asked her colleagues to support and vote for John Mahama in the upcoming elections in order for him to continue to transform the creative sector.
Speaking at the event, Mercy Asiedu said; “It is through his good ways that some people in the creative arts industry felt good. Some who had no cars got cars, so I beg you, let’s rally support for Mahama. He will do it because he has done it before”.

John Mahama in addressing the members in attendance, assured them that his government will find solutions to the challenges facing the creative sector. He promised to establish a dedicated TV Channel for the creative sector to boost the reach of their contents.
The flagbearer of the NDC, has also outlined 22 policy ideas that will be implemented by his government to transform and improve the creative sector. Some of the policy ideas by John Mahama are; to make budgetary allocations for the creative sector, to streamline copyright modalities, to renovate arts and cultural centers, just to mention a few.
On December 7, 2024, Ghanaians will be going to the polls to elect the next president of the country. Mercy Asiedu has therefore asked her colleagues and well wishers to rally their support behind John Mahama to win the elections.
