ANIKULAPO season two to be film in Ghana: – Kunle Afolayan

Kunle Afolayan has disclosed that, parts of the season two of ‘Anikulapo’ will be filmed in Ghana.

The decision by the Nigerian filmmaker to film parts of the season two of ‘Anikulapo’ in Ghana is a move to support the “Shoot in Ghana” initiative announced by the National Film Authority.

Kunle Afolayan broke this news at the Cannes Film Festival hosted in France. The presence of the Nigeria International Film and TV Summit (NIFS) at the Cannes gave Afolayan the platform to make his announcement.

Ms. Juliet Yaa Asantewa Asante, CEO of Ghana’s National Film Authority, who attended the summit, facilitated the collaboration. She conveyed her excitement for the collaboration, emphasizing how it may improve Ghana and Nigeria’s long-standing film industry ties.

Ms. Asante claims that the program offers both nations a great chance to capitalize on one another’s advantages and investigate untapped markets. The cooperation is further enhanced by Afolayan’s dedication to training through his film school, KAP Academy, which provides invaluable possibilities for talent transfer during the shoot.

Many Ghanaians are anticipated to find work beyond the film business thanks to Netflix’s original film and television series ‘Anikulapo’.

Citing Ghana’s popular “Shoot in Ghana” campaign, which has achieved remarkable success in recent years, Juliet Asante urges filmmakers worldwide to consider the country as a desirable shooting location.
