Celebrity endorsement of alcoholic brands ban was a blessing though I don’t support the ban: – Kwadwo Nkansah

Ghanaian actor and producer Kwadwo Nkansah famously known as Lilwin has disclosed that, the ban on celebrity endorsement of alcoholic brands was a blessing to him.

According to Kwadwo Nkansah, the ban on celebrity endorsement of alcoholic brands paved the way for him to take his Christian live more seriously. Before the ban, Kwadwo Nkansah was the brand ambassador for Alomo and other beverages.

The actor’s contract with Kasapreko came to an end a day after he appended his signature. The ban was announced by the Food and Drugs Authority of Ghana.

Though the ban received mixed reactions from celebrities, Kwadwo Nkansah has disclosed during an interview at UTV that, the ban was a blessing to him. It helped him to pay more attention to his Christian life to become a true worshiper.

“I signed with Kasapreko not for money, but for the love I had for the company and also because the owner was my boss. A day after my contract with the company, the FDA placed a ban on celebrities endorsing alcohol, bringing the contract to an end. Even though I don’t agree with the decision to ban celebrities from endorsing alcoholic brands, it helped me focus on my agenda of becoming a true worshipper and a believer in the Lord,” Nkansah said.

Kwadwo Nkasanh is in Accra in preparations towards the premiering of his much talked about move, ‘A Country Called Ghana’. The movie will be premiered in Accra on May 17, at the National Theater.
