Surprise X-Men return to Deadpool 3 explained by director.

Director Shawn Levy has justified the decision to bring back an X-Men character in Deadpool & Wolverine.

From the Super Bowl trailer released, Aaron Stanford is set to reprise his role as Pyro from the X-Men movies. The difference is that, this time, Aaron Stanford is playing Pyro in the MCU.

Due to the existence of the Time Variance Authority (TVA) and its reality-bending antics, the return of Pyro is made possible in Deadpool & Wolverine.

Shawn Levy in an interview with Entertainment Weekly narrated how his team decided to allow the X-Men movie character to make a dive to the MCU.

“I will say we didn’t start off with a wish list. From the day we started devising this Deadpool & Wolverine story, we let the story dictate the characters, not the other way round. Aaron and his return as Pyro was an outgrowth of that, and that applies to pretty much all the characters you will see in the movie.”

In addition to Pyro, X-force characters like Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Shatterstar and Yukio are all featuring in Deadpool & Wolverine.

Deadpool & Wolverine opens in cinemas on July 26,2024.
