‘Unstoppable’: Jennifer Lopez’s new movie suspends production until further notice.

The Writer’s Guild of America strike has affected a lot of movies under production, including Jennifer Lopez’s new movie.

The wrestling drama movie ‘Unstoppable’ is based on the story of 3 time All-American wrestler Anthony Robles. Anthony Robles was born with one leg, and that did not stop him from becoming a global icon. Jennifer Lopez features in the movie alongside Jharrel Jerome.

Reports indicate that the movie was about two weeks into production before the suspension. The suspension of production happened on Wednesday as picketers were out in protest at USC.

The Amazon project, which is being overseen by Argo editor Billy Goldenberg, has now been put on indefinite hold and suspended entirely while the strikes are addressed.

It comes after Ben Affleck expressed his joy at the chance to work alongside his wife in a public statement. Ben Affleck is financing the movie through Artist Equity, a firm he co-founded with longtime partner Matt Damon.

Ben told CBS Sunday Morning: “What fun, what a joy to do something with her, see her be great, go to work with your wife, go to work with your best friend.”

“Because ultimately, like, your work becomes the lion’s share of what defines your life, in terms of the time you spend… [if] you love the people at work, you probably have a pretty good life, you know?” Ben added.

Unstoppable is the most recent film to be disrupted by the WGA strikes, which have also suspended production on popular TV shows including Daredevil: Born Again, Uncoupled, and Big Brother USA as well as Marvel’s Thunderbolts and the Keanu Reeves-starring film Good Fortune.
