A new trailer for Extraction 2 has been released and Idris Elba makes an appearance.
For the sequel to 2020’s Extraction, which will debut later this month, the Luther star reteams with his Thor friend Chris Hemsworth.
The Man in the Suit, played by Idris Elba, interacts with Hemsworth’s black ops mercenary Tyler Rake in the just released footage. After the events of the first movie, which left him seemingly dead, this enigmatic new installment appears to assign Rake with a perilous job.
“Rake. You are a legend,” Elba’s character says when finally coming face-to-face with the protagonist.
“I have to say, mate, you’re living up to the hype,” he continues, adding with a smile: “Rake. That’s such a fun name to say.”
Little is known about the Man in the Suit’s mission for Rake, but it appears that it will occur in a location wholly distinct from the first picture, which was shot in Thailand and India.
In order to save the family of a vicious Georgian criminal lord from the prison where they are being detained, Rake will now embark on a little excursion in the snow.

In a 2016 interview, (Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Endgame) screenwriter and producer Joe Russo discussed the abrupt change in scenery.
“It has a different colour schematic. It’s set in a different part of the world. It has a different pace, a different tone than the first one,” he told Collider.
“And that, to us, is an interesting way to approach serialising a story is that it’s more surprising and unexpected, and you’re not going to get the exact same movie that you got the last time.”
Extraction 2 will be released on 16th June, 2023 on Netflix.
