Don Jazzy was my mentor: Meeting him was like meeting Jesus – Davido

American-born Nigerian singer, songwriter and record producer, Davido has shared his experience in the music industry so far.

David Adedeji Adeleke OON professionally known as Davido, spoke to YouTuber, Tayo Aina, touching on his break through in his music career. He also touched on his talent, the people he met on the way as well as meeting his mentor.

During the interview with Tayo Aina, Davido mention that he got into the music scene at a very young age. He went viral with ‘Back When’ when he was just a baby according to him.

According to Davido, as an engineer who can produce beats, he goes everywhere to meet people to show them what he can do. He met a lot of people who had an impact in his music career.

“My main strong point was that, I knew how to engineer, I knew how to make beats. So that was like my main strong point.”

Now, to how he met Don Jazzy his mentor, he noted that his cousin worked at Don Jazzy’s MoHits. And this facilitated him to finally meet his mentor Don Jazzy.

“Don Jazzy was my mentor… I remember the first day I saw Don Jazzy… I thought I was looking at Jesus.”
