Due to Dwayne Johnson’s Fast X comeback, Hobbs is back in the Fast & Furious series and will likely continue to be involved in the action in future installments.
The Rock and Vin Diesel‘s highly public dispute caused the franchise stars to split up for years, but the show is now starting to bring them back together. This is due to the vengeful desire of Dante, played by Jason Momoa, the villain, to get revenge on those who killed his father. The Rock’s return to the Fast & Furious franchise is confirmed when Dante phones Hobbs in the post-credits scene of Fast X to warn the person who killed his father that he is coming for him next.
Given everything that transpired between him and Diesel over the years, Dwayne Johnson’s cameo in Fast X is noteworthy. They started a public feud over their opposing work ethics and franchise aspirations soon after entering the franchise in Fast Five. Because of this, they were unable to film any scenes together for The Fate of the Furious, Universal gave The Rock a spinoff, and Hobbs was absent from F9. Because of their conflict, Johnson even vowed he wouldn’t return for Fast X and claimed to have privately informed Diesel that he was done with the franchise. He has reversed course and is back as Hobbs.
Dwayne Johnson changed his mind and decided to play Hobbs in the Fast X cameo since he understood this was best for his career. The Rock finally launched a new series with Black Adam as a part of the DC Universe at the same time as he left Fast & Furious. He had grand ambitions for his DC persona, including follow-ups, spin-offs, and ultimately a confrontation with Henry Cavill’s Superman. However, Black Adam underperformed at the box office and garnered negative reviews, which allowed James Gunn to declare that Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam had no place in his new franchise plans going forward.
The Rock was forced to return to Fast & Furious after failing to secure his new superhero franchise. Despite being one of the most well-known actors in the world, he has recently had trouble launching new roles despite being a franchise Viagra. Black Adam and Jungle Cruise both failed at the box office, so The Rock has only recently discovered success with streaming movies that draw record-breaking viewership numbers despite receiving bad reviews. After the conclusion of Fast X, Dwayne Johnson needs a major, successful movie franchise, so playing Hobbs again provides him that chance.
How Hobbs return will impact the future of the Fast and Furious franchise?
Hobbs’ position as the franchise’s future leader has been restored with his return to the Fast & Furious franchise. Dwayne Johnson undoubtedly agreed to the Fast X cameo as a part of the strategy for Hobbs to play a major role in Fast & Furious 11. He may now get back together with Dom to assist in defeating Dante and once more defending the world. Additionally, it increases the likelihood of Hobbs & Shaw 2 by increasing the possibility that the sequel will be incorporated into the preparations for the series’ conclusion.
Dwayne Johnson’s Fast X comeback also signifies that the series has been successful in bringing back its major stars as the last films are being shot. In Fast X, Gal Gadot came back as Gisele as well after it was believed that her character had passed away, enabling the actress to become Wonder Woman and a much bigger star. The Rock and Gal Gadot can now join Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Charlize Theron, Brie Larson, and other big-name actors in the Fast & Furious flicks.
